An 82-year-old man who investigators said went missing Sunday was found nearly 150 miles from home after wrecking his car along Highway 11 in Martin County.
Mebane Police told WITN 82-year-old Donald Faucette went missing Sunday last night. He was the subject of a silver alert issued statewide around 5 p.m. that day as authorities believe he suffered from some kind of cognitive impairment.
WITN got word from police this morning, he was found safe at Martin General Hospital in Williamston early Monday morning. That location is nearly 150 miles from Faucette's home.
Fire officials said the 82-year-old wrecked his car near Oak City along Highway 11 North around 1:30 Monday morning.
Faucette was taken to Martin General after the wreck, according to fire officials.
