Would be crooks and criminals beware. The Pitt County Sheriff's Office has a new tool in their crime fighting arsenal.
The Pitt County Sheriff's Office revealed they now have eyes in the sky thanks to a helicopter. Sheriff Mac Manning says his office got the chopper for free from a federal surplus program. Manning plans to fund the helicopter's operating and insurance costs with drug seizure money. The pilots are specially trained volunteers.
The chopper is a 1968 Bell Ranger model.
