Duke, Exonerated Lacrosse Players Reach Settlement

There's a financial settlement between Duke University and the three former lacrosse players who were cleared of rape charges.

School officials aren't disclosing the terms of the settlement.

The families of Reade Seligmann, Collin Finnerty and Dave Evans
racked up millions of dollars in legal bills for their defense.

The families are likely to file a civil lawsuit against Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong, who sought indictments against the three players.

The three were indicted for rape, kidnapping and sexual offense
after a woman told police she was attacked at a team party where
she was hired to perform as a stripper.

State prosecutors later dropped the charges, and Nifong was found to have violated the rules of professional conduct during his trial before the State Bar.

Less than two weeks ago, Duke University said it had reached a
financial settlement with Pressler.
