In a field of freshly cut wheat...A 1947 Single Engine Stinson plane rests in the middle of Cowlick Farm.....smoldering. Just before six o'clock Sunday afternoon. The plane fell from the clear blue sky on Ware Chapel Lane in Beaufort County--just a football field length away from the Coleman's home.
According To The Federal Aviation Administration, the plane is registered to Hilton Ray Modlin and Hank Modlin, both of Beaufort County. Hospital Officials confirm both men were transported to Beaufort County Hospital and later airlifted to Pitt County Memorial and listed in serious condition.
The Beaufort County Sheriff's office says the FAA and NTSB will arrive Monday to conduct the investigation into why the plane went down.
