The Highway Patrol says an 18-year-old has been charged with DWI after a head-on crash New Years Eve that killed another 18-year-old old from Martin County.
State troopers say Dustin Snyder of Jamesville was killed when his car was hit on Prison Camp Road, near Bailey Road, around 10:40 p.m.
The Highway Patrol says a car driven by Adam Holliday of Williamston went left of center and hit Snyder's vehicle head on.
Troopers tell WITN News that additional charges are possible against Holliday. They say he suffered a broken leg in the accident and was transported to Pitt County Memorial Hospital. PCMH says Holliday has been released from the hospital.
Snyder worked at the Piggly Wiggly in Williamston, and had been let off work so he could go hunting. Donald Barber, store manager, talked to us about Snyder, "He talked about fishing and hunting all the time, everybody loved him, you just couldn't help but love him." Ironically, employees say Holliday had also worked at the same store in the past with Snyder.
Funeral arrangements have been set for Dustin Snyder. The wake will be held Sunday, January 3 at Williamston First Pentecostal Holiness Church between 7 p.m and 8:30 p.m. The funeral is set for Monday, January 4 at 11 a.m also held at Williamston First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Let me explain to you that I only said to e that it is an act of GOD when you leave this world and he or she became angry at me. I never said that it was just an accident or that Blake did not make a bad decision and to me it is just like putting a gun to someone's head and pulling the trigger. And also said that my child and me was riding the road that night and it could of been us and yes if it was my child I would be very angry, but anger would not bring my son back or me back if my mom was angry. She or he had no right to talk bad to me. I never said anything bad about Dustin. I said he is a very handsome young man and it is a very sad tragedy. And I feel very sorry for his family. And I will keep praying that his family find peace. To e and plus e my handle.
first of all, it is mighty childish for the grown people to be up here arguing like they are. it is ridiculous. and 4 those of u tryin to make blake seem so innocent, u need a reality check! God forbid it was a family member or friend of yours that was killed by the ignorance of the drunk driver that wasnt even old enough to have the alcohl in the first place. personally i feel no sorrow for blake other than him havin to live the rest of his life with the memory of the stupid decision he made in the back of his mind. I think that him and who ever the ignorant person is that brought the alcohol for him should go down with the best punishment they can get. and for the people sayin that it was a "ACCIDENT", but gettin behind the wheel of a car when you know your not sober is NOT a accident. but anyway my thoughts and prayers are with dustins family.....sorry for your loss...
Dustin's Rally Jamesville High School Auditorium January 30,2010 @ 5:00 p.m. Dustin would want us to remember what he stood for and some of the stuff written would not please him! Please respect him and the memory we have of him and pray for Blake because that is what Dustin would have done.
