On a hot day, it's important not only to think about how to stay cool, but how to keep your skin from burning under the sun.
One thing to remember as the summer weather arrives is wearing sunscreen...We caught up with several people enjoying the waters in Washington Sunday to see if they heed the warns and protect themselves with sunscreen. We also offer this advice on the proper way to apply sun protectant.
According to Consumer Reports, sunscreen with a S-P-F of at least 15 should be applied a half-an-hour before heading outside... You should reapply every two hours or after going in the water or excessive sweating... And make sure to check the expiration date. Once suncreen gets too old it loses its effectivness.
