A local army reservist, who spent a year in iraq, is back home--safe and sound. The 25 year old Greenville Sergeant was deployed in may and Friday night she returned to the home.
Although Saturday, her family surprised her with a celebratory cook-out with all of Sergeant Karonda Fleming's favorite food. Her parents, Ernest And Deborah Fleming, along with her brother, grandmother, aunts, uncles and friends wanted her know how much they appreciate her service to her family and country.
Most importantly they're estastic she's home safe to make up for all the holidays she missed and to celebrate the one coming up.
Sergeant Fleming joined the Army Reserves in 2002 and this is the first time she's ever been deployed. she served in the Public Affairs Unit during that time in Iraq.
