8 Vehicles Involved In Chain Reaction Crash On Hwy 70

At least eight vehicles were involved in a chain reaction crash on Highway 70 east after noon on Friday. It happened on 70 near West Thurman Road in Craven County.

There were no serious injuries reported though several medical crews were dispatched to the scene. The crash involved a small tanker truck, two other small trucks and several cars.

Motorists waited for a half hour or more to be directed around the crash site and traffic was tied up for miles. As of 1:30 p.m., one lane was open and traffic was moving slowly.
