A defense lawyer resumed testimony today in Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong's ethics hearing.
Brad Bannon was an attorney for former Duke lacrosse player Dave
Evans. Bannon said during testimony to a State Bar panel yesterday
that Nifong's early comments to reporters about the Duke lacrosse
rape case were "outrageous."
Bannon also recalled how Nifong told Joseph Cheshire, Evans'
other attorney, through an assistant that he wouldn't meet with him
early on unless Evans was ready to be charged.
Former player Collin Finnerty appeared for the first time at the
proceeding. Former player Reade Seligmann already has attended.
Rape charges against the three players were dropped earlier this
Nifong could lose his law license if convicted by the disciplinary committee.
