A high school student has pleaded guilty to holding a teacher and another student hostage last year.
Eighteen-year-old William Barrett Foster entered the plea yesterday to two counts of second-degree kidnapping and two counts of second-degree assault.
Authorities say Foster carried a shotgun, air pistol and hunting knife to East Chapel Hill High School April 24th of last year.
Student Chelsea Slegal and social studies teacher Lisa Kukla were held for more than an hour, but Kukla was able to talk Foster out of shooting them. Police say Foster then fired a shot through a window and fled.
Foster had previously pleaded NOT guilty by reason of insanity.
