This is the first meeting for residents and business owners to give their perspective of the closing of South Washington Street from sixth to Dickenson Avenue and Reade Circle.
That means traffic would not long be able to connect to the downtown area from Washington Street. It will also mean less visibility for Katherine Wetherington's business which sit in front of South Washington Street. Weatherington is not sure about her future if the plan passes. The city of Greenville plans to listen to comments Thursday evening at seven in the council chambers at city hall. Come early if you're planning to speak at this hearing.
