A manufacturer of custom-made foam products will bring 100 new jobs and a seven million dollar investment to Edgecombe County over the next three years.
Spongex L-L-C, a new affiliated division of Zebulon-based Nomaco
Incorporated, makes products such as aquatic floats, exercise
equipment and swim training accessories.
The company says it plans to move into a 266,000 square-foot facility located next to a Nomaco plant that's been in Tarboro since 1997. The Spongex plant is expected to be fully operational by the end of the year.
Tarboro officials say they'll apply for a $500,000 industrial development grant from the state Department of Commerce to ensure the company has an uninterrupted source of power.
