The story is changing a bit when it comes to a man in the east who says he was bound, robbed and stabbed after a home invasion.

Herb Lewis originally told investigators it happened Wednesday night on Highway 258 South of Macclesfield in Edgecombe County.

Now sheriff's officials say Lewis told investigators it actually happened on Carroway Road in Pitt County.

Lewis says two men armed with a gun burst into his home, beat him and then demanded money.

At some point the victim was stabbed in the back.

The sheriff says its unclear why 911 was not called.

A neighbor drove Lewis to PCMH.

A truck that was stolen has since been recovered.

Authorities have determined it was stolen from someone else prior to last night.

A home invasion overnight has lawmen searching for two armed men who make their getaway in the victim's pickup truck.

Edgecombe County Sheriff James Knight says between 9:00 and 9:30 p.m. masked gunman broken down the door of Herb Lewis' home. Lewis lives on Highway 258, south of Macclesfield.

Once inside, Lewis was stabbed in the back and he and another victim were both tied up. The gunmen took electronics, an undetermined amount of cash and left driving Lewis' truck. That truck is a gray 2007 GMC truck with North Carolina tag YXF-3907.

The victims were able to free themselves and contact a neighbor who took them to Pitt County Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The sheriff says Lewis' injuries are not life-threatening.
