North Carolina State wants to know if its snarling wolf logo is showing up on merchandise sold at Nevada.
"Toughie" is the cartoon wolf that wears a red sweater and a beanie and is an N-C State trademark used on Wolfpack merchandise from flip flops to T-shirts.
Nevada's teams are called the Wolf Pack and the school's primary logo is a different wolf. A mug shot version of the N-C State wolf looks similar to one seen on items including a welcome mat and cookie jar that Nevada's athletics department sells. The difference is the Nevada version is blue and wears a top hat.
N-C State officials say they've sent an inquiry to Nevada about the mug shot version of Toughie. But there's been no response yet.
