The Greenville Parade scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday was postponed because of the rain.

Organizers say the parade may be rescheduled for December 20, but they'll confirm that in the coming days. We'll post that information here as it becomes available.

The ECU game is, of course, on as scheduled with a noon kickoff.

The following parades and events were scheduled for Saturday, and no change was reported.

Coastal Christmas Flotilla, New Bern: 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Washington Parade, Washington: 10:00 a.m.

Washington Flotilla, Washington: 5:30-7:00 p.m. Jim Howard will be co-hosting this event.

Crystal Coast Flotilla, Morehead City & Beaufort: 5:30-6:15 p.m.
This is on rain or shine.

I hate that I didn't get to see the decorated tow trucks and garbage trucks that have become a staple of the Greenville Christmas parade....(sarcasm).

How much has the University helped this area and the people who live in this area. The economy is only surviving here because of ECU. Look at the unemployment rate in Wilson County. That could easily be Greenville. The success ECU has directly relates the success of this city and region. GO PIRATES!" I was thinking the same, exact thing! ECU is what Greenville is all about; nothing else. They would just be another ENC small town, otherwise. The Moms/Dad's of all those college students are pumping money into that university/town, as hard as they can go. ECU is the 'heartbeat' of Greenville. Go Pirates! Yay!

YOU WOULD THINK THAT A CITY THE SIZE OF GREENVILLE WOULD HAVE A BACK UP DATE SET BEFOREHAND FOR THE PARADE.YOU CAN'T EXPECT TO HAVE THE PARTICIPATION THAT YOU WOULD HAVE HAD. THEY HAVE BEEN SAYING ALL WEEK THAT THE WEATHER FOR SAT. WASN'T LOOKING GOOD. I GUESS THE ONLY THING THEY WERE THINKING ABOUT IS ALL THE SALES TAX THEY WERE GOING TO COLLECT THIS WEEKEND FROM THE BALL GAME & DON'T FORGET THE HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX . THAT STAYS RIGHT HERE THE STATE DOESN'T GET THAT.
