For many terminally ill children, the treatment they need to stay alive can mean losing their hair.
There's a group that's working to help. Locks of Love collects donated hair to create wigs free of charge for some of these children. Monday afternoon, as part of a service project, Girl Scouts from troop 673 in Greenville, went under the scissors, cutting their hair to donate to Locks of Love. Some of the scouts trimmed up to 12 inches.
The wigs Locks of Love creates cost between $3,000 and $6,000 and take several months to make.
