Deputies say they finally got their man Tuesday, after he ran out of a courtroom and led authorities on a two county high speed chase.

Zackrious Lee was in court on a trespassing charge. But deputies say he bolted from the courtroom when the judge ordered him into custody.

Lee made it to his vehicle, and deputies say he nearly hit one officer as he made his getaway. They pursued Lee down Highway 301 towards Weldon, with state troopers placing stop sticks across the highway. One of the tires on Lee's car went flat, but he continued into Northampton County. Deputies say Lee was finally stopped in Garysburg.

Lee is now charged with simple assault, 2 counts of resisting a public officer, assault with a deadly weapon on a government official, flee to elude arrest, reckless driving to endanger and speeding. He and was placed in the Halifax County jail with no bond.
