Those who weren't on the beach Saturday soaking up the bright afternoon sun, may have been in Aurora soaking up a little history.
Saturday, marked the 14th Annual Fossil Festival in the Beaufort County town of Aurora. One of the star attractions at this years festival was The Fossil Matter Car Show.
There were activities and games for the kids, and of course lots of good food.
Representatives from museums and aquariums across the state set up their everything from dinosaur arms to really large sharks teeth and as George Powell of The American Fossil Federation told us, there is a common goal among participants and vendors.
"To let people see what we find in the mines." said Powell, "We try to show people how significant the fossil finds are that we found here."
