A student in the machining program at Lenoir Community College received the diagnosis from the hospital last Friday. The Health Department still has one test to do before it can conclude the case is in fact tuberculosis. College officials and the Lenior County Health Department have partnered together to determine who was exposed to this airborne bacteria. So far, seventy people, mostly for the community college had to get tested at the health department for the disease. We''re told most of those tests have returned back negative. According to the Center for Disease Control, in 2006 there were thirteen thousand seven hundred and sixty seven reported cases of tuberculosis in the United States
