Swansboro Teen Killed in Crash

Now, the small town of Swansboro in Onslow County is mourning the loss of a high school student. The sign outside Swansboro High School says it all, "our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family number 22." Authorities tell us, nineteen year old Harold "Tim" Heyward of Hubert, died Monday afternoon around three PM on Queens Creek Road, just past the high school. He collided with an oncoming car. Details of the crash are unknown at this time, but we do know the senior football player, was transported to Pitt County Memorial Hospital where he later died. Tuesday, at the high school, signs, bouquets of flowers, and a spray painted number #22 on the grass, were placed in honor of Tim. A funeral and memorial service for Tim will be held Saturday at Swansboro High School.
