A South Carolina company is recalling more than 2,500 cases of turnip greens after tests turned up trace amounts of diesel fuel in some samples in North Carolina.
The voluntary recall by McCall Farms of Effingham affects
27-ounce cans of Margaret Holmes Seasoned Turnip Greens. They carry the product code T-U-R-N-3 K-1-0-G-Y and a best-by date of November 2009.
The state Department of Agriculture and Consumer Service's Food
and Drug Protection Division launched an investigation after a
consumer complained that the product had a chemical taste. Testing
confirmed the trace amounts of diesel fuel.

with state and federal authorities to determine the cause of the
