Former televangelist Tammy Faye Messner has
posted video on her Web site in which she says she's looking
forward to a long life despite a third battle with cancer and
having her weight fall to 65 pounds.
She says she could live 15 to 20 more years preaching the
Messner made the comments in a telephone interview that
originally aired on the California-based Trinity Broadcasting
Network. The approximately eleven-minute interview was posted to
tammyfaye.com as a YouTube video late last week.
Last week, Messner said doctors have stopped treating her
Messner helped her then-husband Jim Bakker create a
multimillion-dollar evangelism empire. The couple founded a
Christian retreat in South Carolina, but divorced while Jim Bakker
served time for financial fraud.
Messner, who later married Roe Messner, was first diagnosed with
colon cancer in 1996. She announced in 2004 that the disease had
spread to her lungs.
