Coast Guard Suspends Search For Missing Sailors

After searching thousands of square miles of ocean the Coast Guard says it will suspend an active search for a missing sailboat.

A cutter and aircraft from several military bases searched Saturday for four sailors and their sailboat last heard from at the beginning of the week.

The sailboat "Flying Colours" sent an emergency signal early Monday during a severe storm off the North Carolina coast.

Searchers covered more than 282-thousand square miles of sea, an area the size of Texas.

The Coast Guard identified the missing sailors as Patrick Topping, 39; Jason Franks, 34; Rhiannon Borisoff, 22; and Christine Grinavic, 25. Borisoff is from Newport, Rhode Island.
