Thick fog is delaying school for Camden and Hertford County Schools, by one hour. Currituck County Schools are opening on a two hour delay.
Thick fog limited visibility down to a quarter of a mile in some of the northeastern and western sections of Eastern North Carolina.
The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory until 9 a.m. Thursday morning.
The fog will remain dense for the remainder of the pre-dawn hours. After sunrise, the fog will begin to lift and disperse with Improved visibility expected by 8 or 9 a.m.
A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. Motorists should slow down And exercise extreme caution. Use low beam headlights only and maintain a safe driving distance away from other vehicles.
