state House is moving forward with its two-year budget bill today.
The chamber's appropriations committee is reviewing the spending plan for state government.
The 20-point-three billion-dollar plan for the coming fiscal year includes increases for education and five-percent raises for public school teachers.
Building projects also would get a significant boost with about 600 million dollars in cash or debt for construction needs.
The committee is expected to take amendments and approve the plan later today.
House Speaker Joe Hackney has said it's likely that floor votes on the bill will occur tomorrow and Friday.
