Congressional primaries a year away, but Tuesday, one candidate threw his hat into the ring. Onslow County commissioner Joe McLaughlin says he's seeking the Republican nomination for North Carolina's Third Congressional district. That seat is currently held by Congressman Walter B. Jones. Mclaughlin says he plans to visit all 17 counties in the Third district. McLaughlin has long been an outspoken critic of Jones, and his opposition to the war in Iraq. Jones has been in office since 1995.
