Pools of water and flooded roadways are what business owners and visitors in downtown Oriental were faced with Monday afternoon as intense winds blew into the area. As the winds blew in, water from the Pamlico Sound and surrounding waterways were forced onshore. All the water created a soggy mess not just for business owners, but visitors as well. One sailboat owner tied up until the weather passes, told us he's at the weather's mercy. For over a year he's been sailing up and down the East Coast with his dog Cee-Cee. Until the weather clears though, he's hunkering down in Pamlico County.
