Family and friends gathered in Pink Hill in Lenoir County Wednesday afternoon to lay 7 year-old Chastity Sumner to rest. Deputies found the child's body in a ditch Saturday, just 80 yards from her home in Pink Hill. Charged in the little girl's murder is John Allen Manning, who authorities tell us was staying with Chastity's family at her house. Family members told us Chastity was a sweet, quiet little girl who liked to play dress up and eat boiled peanuts. This isn't the first time the family has been struck with tragedy. Authorities say in the same home, another family member was shot and killed by a boyfriend. Two years later Chastity's grandfather died, and then in 2006 Chastity's mother died.
