A group of 55 and older men and women laced up their running shoes for The Annual Senior Games in Pitt County.
From baseball and football tossing to the shot putt, the seniors were serious about the fun and the competition. The Pitt County Community Schools Organization has been working with senior for more than 23 years with one goal in mind.
"...Push seniors to be active all year," says Jennifer Lanier, Recreation Coordinator. "...So if they're practicing all year then they can come here and compete, so it's just not today, it's being active all the time"
The winners of today's events will go on to compete at the state level. Those senior games are held in the fall and from their they go on to the national level.
