Patients at Craven County's Merci Clinic have a new reason to smile. The clinic has officially opened its doors to its new dental facility. The free dental care wing opened just in time for national "Cover the Uninsured" week. The campaign aims to educate the community about free health care services. Clinics nationwide will participate in facility tours and one-on-one health care counseling. Merci is only one of two free clinics East of I-95 to offer free dental care. Merci clinic's new dental facility was funded by the North Carolina Association of Free Clinics and Blue Cross, Blue Shield.
