.Firefighters in western North Carolina are trying to control two wildfires in Haywood and Jackson counties.
A fire burned 75 acres in Haywood County in the Cruso community and a fire burned 130 acres in Cedar Creek in Jackson County. No injuries or damage to homes were reported, and no one has been evacuated.
McDowell, Rutherford and Polk counties are among 16 North Carolina counties under a fire watch warning from the National Weather Service.
The warning means warm and dry conditions will persist across the region and humidity is expected to fall to about 25 percent today.
