A parade, an all day flea market, and the notorious shad toss...It's all part of the weekend long Grifton Shad Festival.
With the color guard leading the pack, the 37th Annual Shad Festival Parade Kicked off today in Grifton.
Parade watchers could enjoy everything from delicious eats, arts and crafts and even rides and games for the kids. Organizers re-vamped the parade route this year to give it a better flow....and flow it did, as our own Doppler dog escorted Meteorologist Jamie Arnold through the streets of Grifton.
There's a street dance tonight from 7-11. The festival wraps up tomorrow.
