It was all about the future of economic growth and jobs at one center in the east hosted Lt. Governor Walter Dalton.

The Northeast Region Jobs Commission held an information meeting in Williamston to talk about where eastern Carolina can expect growth.

Some experts feel there will be growth in the automotive industry, aerospace, and biotech life sciences.

Lt. Governor Dalton stressed the need for kids to stay in school and be ready to work. "There is a great vision for this area and with nc car, aerospace, bio fuels, there is great potential, but that potential is only as good as the workforce there to fill these jobs"

Other initiatives are a Highway 17 Heritage Corridor, where commission leaders say they want to encompass all counties east of I-95 to promote the birthplace of freedom and democracy.

I can't lose my job, oh gutless one, I am the boss. Besides I have an education. I am part of the 40 percent or so of the population that can be educated. In an area with so many dummies, it's easy for an educated man to keep busy. Somebody has to take care of the lazy hordes who only know how to swipe a food stamp card and spend a free government welfare check all of their lives. Chest out, mustache thoroughly waxed, still strutting through my once beautiful little piece of the world. Looking over my shoulder, making sure the vagrants and thugs aren't sneaking up on me as I stroll by the run down buildings and vacant properties that always follow when the motivated, smart, hard working people abandon a town, leaving only the stubborn and the worthless.

With no jobs and we know that Martin County will suffer more than any county. Maybe everyone should start selling drugs so they can keep living huh Baker. Since you think there are hordes of lazy uneducated people in eastern north carolina. Wait until your smart educated self lose your job.

The future...continued decline. Bad demographics = lazy hordes of uneducatable people. This spells disaster for the northeast of NC. Won't be long, the whole NE part of the state will look like Williamston and Robersonville. They look like beruit after a 3 month prolonged extensive Israeli bombing campaign. But I am still walking tall and proud, chest out, mustache thoroughly waxed, loving the fact that I live in the center of all human existence...Williamston, NC.
