A former City Councilman in Kinston has passed away.

A former City Councilman in Kinston has passed away.
Herbie Spear of Kinston has died, according to his obituary. The Kinston Free Press says Spear served as a City Councilman in Kinston in the 80's. He was also the first basketball coach and athletic director at Lenoir Community College.
The family will receive visitors tomorrow night from 7 to 9 at Westminster United Methodist Church. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday at 11 a.m. Spear was 63-years-old.

used to live next door to him in the 6o's. he will be missed. my prayers for his family.
