The Story of Michael Peterson Hits The Airwaves

The story of Michael Peterson is back on television, this time as a made for T-V movie that stars Treat Williams and Kevin Pollak.

``The Staircase Murders'' airs tomorrow night on Lifetime Television with an encore presentation on Monday night. Williams plays Peterson and Pollak plays his attorney, David Rudolf.

Director Tom McLoughlin attempts to put a fresh take on the story of the Durham novelist who was convicted of killing his wife in their Durham mansion.

The body of Kathleen Peterson was found at the bottom of a staircase. Williams says he didn't concern himself with whether Peterson was guilty or innocent because it was important to play the part as if Peterson were innocent since that's the image he presented.
