Hunter Shot In Bertie County
It happened around 5:00 p.m. Monday, southwest of Windsor.

A hunter was seriously injured after being shot Monday. It happened off Grabtown Road, that's southwest of Windsor in Bertie County.
Authorities say there were three men in a hunting group, and one of those was accidentally shot around 5:00 p.m.
Phillip Dilday is in serious condition at PCMH. The North Carolina Wildlife Commission is investigating the shooting.

I'm Philip's/micheal dilday's grannie.And no micheal was not drinking. He is doing a lot better,and is at home.He still has his tubes,and drainage bags.But is in good spirits.and i have noth'n against hunters,my sons hunt,as did my father-in-law,He was the best tracker in the tri/county.But you don't mix guns,and booze.As you don't drink and drive,if this guy had been driving a car and hit micheal,and did the damage that he did with his shot gun,he'd be in jail right now,with so many charges.But as i stated,micheal is "ALIVE" and improving every day.Oh,one more thing,this guy was told not to shoot,by the third person,while micheal was in the field.So why did he shoot anyway?"Because he was so drunk out of his mind,that he was beyond reason.Guns and whiskey,beer,just don't mix.stay home and drink,or go sober and hunt.But, micheal is going to have a long time to heal from the many shots that went into his body.But with prayers,and our love.Micheal will be ok one day. jeanie Dilday

amber is right aintno one trying 2 take away ur guns!!!i even hunt and yes i am with amber you ahouldnt be able to drink and hunt.because its not fair that you cant drink and drive but u can drink and cary a fire arm.i mean what if that was your son or brother or friend in there???wouldnt u feel the same way???yea i really think that you would but thats just me but u think what ever you wont!!!at least hes geting better hats my brother and i love him and if i lost him that would just tear my world apart!!!!
