Dense fog across Eastern Carolina has prompted some school systems to delay the start of the school delay.

Bertie County, Camden County, Gates County, Elizabeth City-Pasquotank County and Perquimans County Schools are all opening two hours late on Tuesday.

Hertford County Schools will open one hour late on Tuesday.

Creswell Elementary and Creswell High School remain closed Tuesday, after the coastal storm last week.

Meteorologist Jim Howard expects the fog to lift by 9 a.m. Partly cloudy skies will follow.
