Some areas of Hyde County are still experiencing flooding Saturday.

A spokesperson for the Engelhard Volunteer Fire Department tells WITN that the water is coming back up again.

The spokesperson goes on to say he expects the flooded streets to remain that way until it begins to warm up in the next two or three days.

The Hyde County Sheriff's Office says they have gone to check on a few people but no calls have come in where people have needed their help.

Official urge caution driving in low-lying areas and to watch for water on roadways.

A coastal flood warning is still in effect until 8 AM Saturday morning in Hyde County.

Officials are urging drivers to proceed with caution.

Roadways in Englehard like Roper Lane and Golden Streets suffered extreme flooding.

Hyde County officials are telling drivers to only travel when necessary and be aware of roadside ditches that may not be visible through the over wash.

Some say they like the fact that their area floods because he keeps the builders away.

Officials say the next high tide is expected around 5 AM Saturday morning

High Tider!! You're so right. It didnt flood because of Ditch .Like you cant get to the courthouse if the streets are flooded. A smarter board would have designed a courthouse equipped with a floating dock and row boats instead of an elevator and caged parking. Maybe we can learn from our own mistakes. Well on big advisor moved to Greene Co. I'm so glad !! Maybe he'll return and get a few to follow him home.

For people who don't have a trained ear to the Hyde County dialect, it's difficult to understand what the natives are saying. I'm capable of understanding what's said and if I want to, I can mock the natives' accent as well. This is because a lot of my ancestors lived down the county and I still have a lot of family down there currently. This is not meant to sound bad, but everybody's related down there.
