The state's ferry director says he's retiring March 1st.
Jack Cahoon, who has been director of the Ferry Division since December 2006, joined the department in 1993. Before that, Cahoon was Dare County manager for 17 years.
The state says the new director will be located in Morehead City, instead of Manns Habor. They say that's more central to its operations along the coast.
Cahoon will remain as director until his successor starts, or until his retirement date.
