Cable channel M-S-N-B-C is dropping its simulcast of radio host Don Imus. The decision was announced on-air.
The decision comes amid the swirl of controversy over Imus' racial slur against the Rutgers University women's basketball team.
A statement from N-B-C News says its decision not to re-broadcast "Imus in the Morning" is based on "an ongoing review process" and internal conversations with its employees.
The move also follows harsh criticism from civil rights activists and others. And major Imus advertisers have been bolting.
Imus, who has apologized repeatedly, will be on a two-week suspension from his radio program starting Monday.
