Rough waves are crashing along the Outer Banks, and conditions are expected to deteriorate over the coming days.

Beach erosion is a serious concern. There is also concern that the high waves could breach dunes and threaten homes.

Dare County Emergency Management Coordinator Sandy Sanderson said this storm is building up to be something "we haven't seen in a while."

He talked about the potential of 14 to 16-foot surf for a duration of four or five high tide cycles.

"If we have something like that," Sanderson said, "It's going to certainly threaten the infrastructure right along the beach front."

The first houses that rent are the oceanfront homes--and they are the ones that bring in the most rental tax--at rental tax at 12 3/4 per cent ---the people on the outer banks have very low taxes-and great schools because of these homes---most of the homes have no one using the school systems-- pray that they all make it ----or your taxes will go up--
