The remnants of Hurricane Ida have forced veterans in several communities to move their Veterans Day ceremonies indoors.

In Greenville, the ceremony was originally scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at the Town Common. Now the Veterans Council says it has relocated the ceremony to the J.H. Rose High School auditorium. The program starts at 11:00 a.m.

The Ayden Veterans Day program, scheduled for Veterans Memorial Park at 1:00 p.m., will be held in the Doug Mitchell Auditorium. That's located in the Ayden Arts & Recreation facility at 4354 Lee Street.

I am so thankful for those who have served in the military,(then a Now.) Many thanks for those have helped to organize this Veteran's Day. It does make us as veterans to feel good about what we have accomplised during our protection of this GREAT country. Please speak to a Veteran today or contact them by phone or emails. It will make us proud to have been told what an outstanding job we all have done. POPPA,(US Army Retired)
