A three month investigation by Kinston Police led to an all day sting operation Tuesday, landing suspected drug dealers behind bars.
Hitting the streets before sunrise, Kinston police officers, along with their SWAT team and special response units, raided house after house. Investigators believe the homes were involved in drug activity. Assistant chief Annette Boyd says many of the suspected drug houses are barricaded from the inside, potentially placing officers directly in harm's way. She says even full body armor is no match if a suspect is waiting on the other side of the door. Residents we talked to appreciate what the officers are doing.
Investigators say the early morning raids, led to several suspects being charged with felonies.
