The beaches in Emerald Isle were bare Friday morning, with just a few folks out enjoying the sun. But the kitchen at Portofino's restaurant in emerald isle was all hustle and bustle. Workers were kneading the bread, stocking the bar, and turning up the flames. On a typical holiday weekends they can get 200 people a night in the door, but with the cool forecast, manager Ryan Ayre is a bit worried that he could lose thousands of dollars. Carol Lohr, executive director of Crystal Coast Tourism says, the weekend may be slower than last year, but there are still lots of folks headed to the beach. Carol says since Wednesday she's seen over 200 people just in the visitors’ center in Morehead City.
