There are several big races on tap for Tuesday's elections and one of those races is a runoff for Mayor.
Current New Bern Mayor Tom Bayliss will face off against Attorney Lee Bettis.
Neither received the 50 percent plus one votes in the October election required to secure a victory.
More than 1700 people voted early for the runoff during one stop voting.
Nearly 170 more people voted early in the runoff than compare with the original race in October.
And that has both candidates fired up.
A runoff will also be held in ward 4 between Joan Botcher and Johnny Ray Kinsey.
