The Beaufort/Hyde Special Olympics went off Tuesday without a hitch at Washington High School. Dozens of athletes took the field for the track and field events. Special Olympic athletes from over a dozen area schools competed in the annual event. Washington High School students also were on hand cheering on the athletes. The message here is the same for everyone--do your best and have fun. Several area businesses donated time and food for the event. WITN's Christine Kennedy served as the emcee for the event.
