There's a pledge of some big bucks for the Lenoir County Boys and Girls Club. Former club president, Tim Pate agreed to match every dollar raised for the organization over the next three years, up to $300,000. Current club president, Jim Dobbins says the money is badly needed because of the decrease in state and federal funding for the organization. Dobbins says he plans to organize community fundraisers over the next two months. He hopes to raise up to $100,000 for the Lenoir County Boys and Girls Club by June.
