Passport Changes Causing Massive Delays

If you’re planning a trip out of the country, now is the time to get your passport. Don't expect it to be a quick trip though. We checked in at the main post office in Jacksonville, where people were waiting in line outside the building early Monday morning. Officials say the backup stems from changes to the rules this year. Now, any U.S. citizen traveling to Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda must have a valid passport to re-enter the country. And getting that passport now takes longer. It used to be 4 to 6 weeks. Now it's a minimum of 10 weeks. A passport costs $97 for regular service, or over $120 for expedited services, which still takes around 4 weeks.
