For this Palm Sunday, area churches held services for the beginning of the Christian faith's Passion Week. And for one congregation their services are always held away from their church grounds.
The Memorial Baptist Church In Greenville is steadily preparing to celebrate Easter Sunday on their church grounds. The church was a target of arsonists in January and since then, local churches have provided a place for Memorial members to worship. And as grateful members say they are for the hospitality, their greatest goal is have Easter service at their church home.
Reverend Byrum says the community came together to support the church and to bring them back to the point where the congregation will be able to worship again at their church.
Byrum adds, they will have a covered dish breakfast at 9:00 Easter Sunday morning and then Easter service at 10:30am. Call the church at 252-756-5314 for more information
