Fifteen counties in our area will use this as a water source. By next year, several towns in Eastern Carolina including Ayden will slowly reduce their usage. They will begin pulling water from the Neuse River, instead. The Neuse regional water and sewer authority will provide clean water to eight towns. The town of Ayden partnered with the N.R. Wasa and will be the site of one of the three water tanks to help supply water to the eight towns. The first phase of this project should start in August of 2008, but already customers are already paying for part of the one hundred fifty million dollar project.
